Requests for Donation

The 2007 Kiwanis / Wells Fargo Hockey Festival is our 15th consecutive hockey tournament event. During the 14 previous years, the tournament has raised over $520,000. In keeping with the Kiwanis mission of "Serving the World One Community and One Child at a Time", nearly all of the proceeds from the Hockey Festivals have been donated to local youth organizations.

If your organization wishes to be considered for some of these proceeds, please follow the guidelines below in preparing and submitting your request. Your request will be reviewed by a committee consisting of 4-5 members of Rochester Kiwanis, and each entrant will be notified if their organization is selected to receive an award donation. Those receiving a donation will also be invited to an awards luncheon in mid-February for the presentation of a check in the amount determined by the Kiwanis Review Committee.

There is no guarantee that your donation request will be approved, or if it is approved, that the amount donated to your organization will be the amount you requested.

GUIDELINES FOR FUNDING REQUEST:

Requirements of the requesting Organizations

• must normally be involved in work that directly supports youth in the Rochester community. (Note: exceptions are projects supported by Kiwanis International, or also the Rochester Senior Center)
• should be a not-for-profit organization
• submit a request letter on the organization’s standard letterhead, and signed by the organization’s chief executive or director

Contents of the letter

• short background of the organization’s location, its mission, and the number of youth supported
• specific description of the project for which funding is needed
• amount being requested
