Kiwanis Day Makers of Rochester, MN

Day Maker Supporting Key Club Dinner  - John Ernste, SunRisers

I have scheduled a Spaghetti Dinner for September 27th at Century HS in Rochester starting at 5:00PM. The dinner service will go from 5:30PM to 8:00PM. I have also reserved a meeting room for ALL Key Club members who want to meet each other at 7:30PM in a nearby gym at Century. The purpose of that meeting is for Key Club officers from each club to meet each other as well as all  Rochester members who attend, and to discuss what activities, trips, etc. they have planned for the year. Sometimes comparing notes among officers helps each club come up with new ideas for Key Club activities at their school.

We are also inviting small Rock Bands to provide musical entertainment during the dinner. I am already aware of 4 bands who want to play for 30 minutes each, and am looking for 4 more. There will be a competition for which Key Club members may vote for the best Rock Band. Winners get a very good prize, I promise you!!  Kiwanis members will vote for the bands too, and I have instructed them when voting to place a heavy weighting on the organization and overall talent of the band. Key Club members may choose their own voting criteria.
Cost for Dinner:  Adults - $7.00
                       Students -         $5.00
Students who bring a paying adult will be charged just $3.00.

I do have advance tickets available, but given the logistics, most sales will likely happen at the door. Let me know if you want tickets, and where I should bring them.

I might point out that this is more than just a dinner. It is also an opportunity for ALL Key Club members in Rochester to meet each other!!  That is more important than the dinner, however the food and the music should make this a fun event!!.

I have asked Lourdes and Century Key Club members to help with food service that night. I expect we will need about 25 volunteers at least. You shouldn't have to work more than an hour, and it can be a service project for your clubs.  Please give me a list of volunteers. Sunrisers will provide 15-20 workers to help as well.  Thanks again to Noodles & Co....They are giving us a VG deal on the food supplies.
